
Woodrow W. Stone, 75, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday,
August 4, 2011, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Sunday, September 15, 1935, in Carlisle, a son of the
late William W. and Evelyn D. (Shearer) Stone. Mr.
Stone retired in 1997, after 32 years of service with the Frog Switch Manufacturing Co. in Carlisle and had also worked for
the Borough of Carlisle for nine years. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church of the Cross, Carlisle. Woodrow loved his children,
grandchildren and enjoyed NASCAR, eating out and hunting. He
is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Margurette J. (Stoner) Stone, one daughter, Bonnie S. (and her husband,
Clark) Stone of Loysville, one son, Ronald W. (and his wife, Diana) Stone of Mechanicsburg, two sisters; Margie Brymesser
and Peggy Martin, both of Carlisle, three grandchildren; Elizabeth, Matthew and Tessa Stone and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Debra Johnson. Funeral
services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St.,
Carlisle, with Rev. Daniel R. Mikesell officiating. Burial will be in North Middleton Church of God Cemetery, Carlisle. Viewing
be held on Wednesday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the services. Memorial
contributions may be made to American Heart Association or to his church.
