Arlene A. Eppley, 80, of Carlisle, died Friday, July 29, 2011, in the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She was born on Friday, May 1, 1931, in Bowmansdale, a daughter of the late Clifton and Mary G. (Boring) McClure, and the widow of Paul M. Eppley, who died June 16, 2003.

Arlene was a 1949 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, and had worked in the home healthcare field for many years. She enjoyed watching television - especially old movies, doing crossword puzzles and she loved dogs. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and staff of the sixth floor I. C. U. for the compassionate care they gave Arlene at the Hershey Medical Center.

She is survived by one son, Michael M. Eppley of Carlisle, one daughter, Linda A. (and her husband, Harold) Lysle of Carlisle, one granddaughter, Maley Lysle and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Lester McClure.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Karen Hamm officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of the services.
