
Ethel C. Adams, 90, of Carlisle, passed away
on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. She was born on Friday, September 24, 1920, in St. Thomas,
a daughter of the late Lesley K. and Nora (Brandt) Christman and the widow of Robert C. Adams, who died March 23, 2011.
Ethel graduated from St. Thomas High School.
She was formerly employed at Wilson College in Chambersburg, Carlisle Area School District, where she had worked in the cafeteria
at several of the district’s schools and the Embers Restaurant, Carlisle. Ethel attended the Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian
Church and she loved gardening, traveling and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two loving daughters,
Barbara L. (and her husband, Walter F., III) Nickel of East Berlin and Dorothy A. Becker of Carlisle, one brother, Lee Christman
of Edenville, her grandchildren, Brien Nickel, Nathan Nickel, Jessica Becker Brewbaker, David Becker, Keith Becker and Todd
Becker, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ethel was preceded in death by brothers, Glen and Dean Christman,
sisters, Mabel Ritchey and Margaret Spidle and a son-in-law, Robert Thomas Becker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on
Tuesday, May 31, 2011, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor King Counts officiating.
Burial will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until time
of the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church, 14 Westminster
Dr., Carlisle, PA 17013.
