Helen "Honey" I. Garland, 93, of Carlisle,
passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 19, 1918, in Carlisle,
and was a daughter of the late Abram J. and Carrie (Schmohl) Horn.
She was a 1936 graduate of Carlisle High School,
and was employed for many years as the secretary and treasurer of the former W. H. Garland, Inc, Carlisle. She also
co-owned the company with her late husband, Marshall H. Garland, who died January 17, 1999. She was a long time member
of Second Presbyterian Church, Carlisle and a member of AARP. Honey loved spending time at her summer home in Bethany
Beach, DE and caring for her Shihtzu puppies. She enjoyed doing needlepoint and knitting. Her greatest love was
caring for her family.
She is survived by her son, William H. Garland,
II and his wife, Chrystal Coyle Garland of Carlisle, two step-grandsons, Chad M. Gayman and Jordan M. Gayman and two nieces.
Honey was also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Sheffer.
Services and burial will be private in the
LeTort Cemetery, Carlisle. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions
may be made to a favorite charity of your choice.

Dear Bill & Chrys: So sorry to learn of your
mother's passing. I will always have very fond memories of her and your dad and the times we shared while Del worked for them.
I especially will always cherish their gift to us for your wedding of allowing us to spend time at their home in Delaware.

always enjoyed talking and interacting with Honey. She was a joy to be around!

I had not known Honey personally but heard her name mentioned so many times in conversation with my grandparents, Sam and
Mabel Horn. My dad Earl Horn passed away on Dec 26, 2005. My sympathy to the remaining family.
