

John H. "Jack" Watt, Jr., 89, of Carlisle, passed
away on Monday, May 9, 2011, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Wednesday, June 29, 1921, in Carlisle, and
was a son of the late Mary (Fry) Morrison Waggoner and the widower of June (Barley) Watt, who died February 7, 2009. He was
preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Alice Fry, who raised Jack and also his sister, Joanne Stoner.
Jack was a 1940 graduate of Carlisle High School
and was a U. S. Army WWII veteran who served at the Battle Of The Bulge. He retired from the former C. H. Masland & Sons
after 42 years of service as a service department clerk. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Carlisle. He was
a Little League umpire for 22 years in Carlisle and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. Jack enjoyed reading books, especially
his Bible, doing crossword puzzles and walking all his big dogs during his life. He was a member of the PA Voters Hall of
Fame.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Linda K. Watt
of Carlisle, several nieces and nephews and his faithful golden retriever companion, Jake.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on
Friday, May 13, 2011, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. John L. Shellenberger, Jr.
officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle with military honors by Cumberland County Honor
Guard. Viewing will be on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may
be made to First United Methodist Church, 64 E. North St., Carlisle, PA 17013.

a patient the past few visits to the hospital. You taught me so much and I enjoyed learning about your life and the history
you experienced while over seas. I always looked forward to your stories and your kindness. You are one of a kind and thank
you for allowing me to provide your care.
