Patricia J. Shriner, 77, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday April 7, 2011 in Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill. She was born on Tuesday, June 6, 1933, in Bellwood and was the daughter of the late Jacob and Dusky Kruis.

Patricia was a 1952 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School in Bellwood and worked as cafeteria head cashier for the Carlisle School District for more than 30 years. She served as an aide’s wife to the Potentate of the Zembo Shrine for many years, was a member of Bethany Shrine #7, Old Bellaire Chapter #325 Order of the Eastern Star, Ozemb Temple # 52 Daughters of the Nile, the Willard-Waterman Court # 154 Order of Amaranth, Losna Es Said # 29, the Zembo Shrine Legion of Honor Zee Legionettes, the American Legion Post 101 Auxiliary, served as Queen of The Foxy Red Hats Society and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carlisle. She enjoyed playing golf, camping and traveling.

Patricia is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 54 years, Robert W. Shriner and her son, Robert W. Shriner, II, of Darlington. She was predeceased by a son, David M. Shriner and two brothers; Calvin Kruis and Ernie Kruis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church, 2A N. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Jon A. Black offficiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with an Eastern Star Service at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner Hospital For Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140-4031 or to Patricia’s church.
