
Shirley J. Myers, 75, of Carlisle, loving wife
and mother, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on Wednesday, October
16, 1935, in Newville, a daughter of the late Edgar D. Hurley and Martha A. (Stump) Hurley.
Shirley was a loving homemaker
and enjoyed taking care of her home. She also helped and took care of the elderly and young children. She was
a member of the Mt. Holly Springs American Legion and V.F.W. Post Ladies Auxiliaries.
She is survived by her loving
and devoted husband of nearly 40 years, Petty Officer First Class (Retired) Phillip R. Myers, US Navy, daughter, Tina M. (and
her husband, Brett) Miller of Dillsburg, brothers; Ray Hurley of Gardners and Marlin Hurley of Carlisle, a sister, June Brown
of Mt. Holly Springs, two grandchildren; Jeremiah Wilson and Elijah Miller and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was
predeceased by a son, Paul Wilson, Jr.
Funeral services to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on
Friday, March 25, 2011, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 44 W. Main St., Shiremanstown, with Pastor Michael L. Seifried officiating.
Fellowship will immediately follow the services at the church and burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle
at 2 p.m on Friday. Viewing will be on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
Hanover St., Carlisle.
