James B. Kuhns, 67, of Newville, passed away
on Friday, March 4, 2011, at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. He was born December 4, 1943, in Chambersburg, a son
of the late Clarence L. and Mabel G. (Diller) Kuhns.
Jim retired in 2003 from Carlisle Syntec in Carlisle
after 40 years of service. He also worked for the former Henry's Bakery near Shippensburg as a bread delivery driver. He was
a member of Victory Tabernacle, Carlisle, Newville Fire Co., Newville Special Fire Police and where he served as treasurer
for more than 20 years, also South Newton Fire Co. and Special Fire Police and the Williams Grove Steam Engine Association.
Jim also drove for the Amish, Walnut Bottom Construction and hauled tractors for Jeff Showaker.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kay I.
(Orner) Kuhns, daughters; Jill I. Kuhns and Janet E. Kuhns both of Newville and Mary E. (and her husband, Jeremy) Eutzy of
Shippensburg, brothers; Jay R. Kuhns of Chambersburg and Nathan R. Kuhns of Newville, sisters; Eunice M. Sauder of Ephrata,
Anna L. Predoti and Nancy J. Leatherman both of Lititz, Evelyn M. Schliestett of Suwanne, GA and Fern L. Habecker of Palmyra,
grandchildren; Madison and Jackson Eutzy and Gina Kuhns and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Miriam
F. Kuhns.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on
Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Pastor Glenn Yohn will officiate.
Burial with Fireman's Honors will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be on Tuesday from 5 -
8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of the services. Memorial contributions may be made
to the Missions Program at Victory Tabernacle, 472 E. North St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
