Rommel N. Canonizado, 32, of Carlisle, died Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Harrisburg Hospital. He was born
on Friday, April 14, 1978, in Castillejas, Philippines, a son of Evelyn Y. (Navalta) Thomas and his step-father, Tod Thomas
of Carlisle.
He was a 1994 graduate of St. Nicholas Academy, Castillejas, Philippines and S. T. I. College, also in the Philippines.
He was a Hi-Lift operator at Giant Distribution in Carlisle. Rommel enjoyed playing guitar.
In addition to his mother and step-father, Rommel is survived by his wife of 11 years, Mellany V. (Gamulo) Canonizado,
his brother, Samuel Billingsley of Mechanicsburg, two sisters; Baby Lyn Canonizado of Arendtsville and Marie Shoff of Carlisle,
his maternal grandmother, Angelina Navalta of the Philippines and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St.,
Carlisle, with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating. Burial will be private. Viewing will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the
time of service.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Rommel was a wonderful
man, always ready with a smile. He will be missed greatly. Prayers are with you and your family in this difficult

Rommel was the type of guy, that on a crappy day you would
want around. He could always make you laugh! At Giant he and i would have a song on the Radio, i wear my cheap sunglasses!
