
Stephen W. Sjoberg, 60, of Carlisle, passed away
on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Memorial Day, May 30, 1950, Sault Ste.
Marie, Michigan, the oldest son of the Monica (Monna Mackin) Sjoberg of Carlisle and the late John C. "Bud" Sjoberg.
Steve graduated from Carlisle High School in
1968 and still holds the record for "Push-Ups in the President’s Fitness Program. He received an Associate degree from
H.A.C.C. and a Bachelors degree from Shippensburg University. As a teenager, Steve worked for the former Fleming’s Truck
Stop, Carlisle. He suffered with mental illness all of his adult life.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by
five brothers; J. Michael Sjoberg (and his wife, Janice) of Lexington, SC, Erik Sjoberg (and his wife, Cindy) of Carlisle,
Kurt Sjoberg (and his wife, Judy) of Shippensburg and Mark Sjoberg (and his wife, Lourdes) of Weston, FL and Kenneth Sjoberg
(and his wife, Joanne) of Plainfield, a sister, Krystal Bouder Murtoff (and her husband, Denny) of Carlisle and a close loving
friend, Marcia Wright of Carlisle, ten nieces, two nephews, two step-nephews and their families.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle. Rev. Dwight D. Schlaline and Rev.
Gregory J. D’Emma will be the celebrants. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held immediately following
the services. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is assisting with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made
to NAMI Pennsylvania, 2149 North 2nd St., Harrisburg, PA 17110-1005.

Steve was one of the most interesting people we ever
spoke with.
(I guess he got this from his Mom and Dad!) An
amiable young man who we will miss as we are sure many will.

I didn't know Stephen but I am sorry to hear of your
loss. No matter how many difficulties he may have encountered in life, he had some wonderful siblings and was fortunate
to have had a caring family. I am sure that in time the good memories of Stephen will come around and will stay with
