Carol Minissale King, 88, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on Saturday, January 20, 1923, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Joseph N. and Nancy (Piccione) Minissale and the widow of John Lloyd King, who died Jan. 16, 2009.

Carol graduated from Dickinson College, where she earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree. She was the owner and operator of the former Carol King’s Boutique in Carlisle for many years and was also a local artist. After her late husband’s retirement from the economics department at Dickinson College, Carol and John traveled widely by taking freighters around the world.

She is survived by five children; Lloyd Joseph King, Nancy Leigh King, Carolyn King Lippincott, Michele King Hassinger and Patricia King Haddad, seven grandchildren; Nicole and Jordan Haddad, Thomas, Ben and John Lippincott and Danielle and Sierra Hassinger.

The family will hold a private memorial service. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.

Carol has left each of you a gift.  The gift of memories.  She would want you to remember each gift whether it makes you  Happy, Sad, Glad or Mad.  As you pull out each gift from the memory box that is yours. Know she will be with you always and is at peace.
Our condolences to the entire family.
Donna, Diane, Leah & Michael
