Parker E. Failor, 79, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Monday, October 19, 1931, in Carlisle and was a son of the late Albert E. and Esther Mae (Steigleman) Failor.
Parker was the widower of Doris J. (North) Failor, who died May 7, 1998.
He retired after many years as a supervisor with the former Capital Bakery in Harrisburg and was owner of Failor’s
Salvage Yard in Carlisle. He was a member of Carlisle Church of God. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
Parker is survived by four daughters; Barbara A. Binner of Port St. Lucie, FL, Patricia L. (and husband, Dick) Thornton
of Carlisle, Donna J. Baum of Carlisle and Nancy L. (and husband, Donald) Thomas of Newville, one son, Roger E. Failor and
his companion, Julie S. Phillips of Carlisle, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters; Betty Adams, Joyce Barrick and Harriet
North and seven brothers; Albert Failor, Jr., Donald Failor, Robert Failor, Sr., Ronald Failor, Richard Failor, David Failor
and Harry L. Failor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover
St., Carlisle. Rev. Robert F. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will
be held on Thursday in the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 1 p.m. until time of services. In lieu
of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church at 458 N. College St., Carlisle, PA. 17013 or to Celtic
Healthcare, 220 Wilson St., Suite 100, Carlisle PA 17013.
