Kay S. "Sue" Zimmerman, 70, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at her home.  She was born on Saturday, May 25, 1940, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Cart) Zimmerman.

Sue graduated from the Scotland School for Veterans Children and worked for many years at the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot, where she was a cook for the Enlisted Mens Club and the Officers Club. She was a member of the American Legion Post 101 and Eagles Aerie 1299 Ladies Auxiliaries, both of Carlisle.

Sue is survived by her son, Scott Zimmerman (and his wife, Cathy) of Carlisle, two daughters; Shana Melhorn (and her husband, Armando) of Philipsburg and Samantha Z. Russell of Carlisle, a brother, John D. Zimmerman of Dillsburg, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Graveside services and burial will be in The Old Graveyard, Carlisle at the convenience of the family. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.

I believe I worked with Sue about ten years ago at the Pilot truck stop. She was a very humorous and outspoken lady who made me laugh often! I will always smile when I think of her, and am truly sorry to hear of her passing.
