Dorothy M. (Kelly) Bear, 84, of Carlisle, passed
away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2011 in Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on Friday, February 12, 1926
in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Richard and Helen (Shover) Kelly.
Dorothy was a 1943 graduate of Carlisle High
School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed country music but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a member
of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 63 years,
John R. Bear, her daughter, Camilla A. (and husband, Jackie) Kaltenbaugh of Newville, three sons; Stephen R. Bear of Carlisle,
Kenneth B. Bear of Mechanicsburg and Thomas R. Bear of Newville, her sister, Margaret Eckrich of Shippensburg, two grandsons;
Thomas R. Bear, Jr. and Chad A. Bear and her great-granddaughter, Payton J. Bear. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased
by a daughter, Rebecca Lyn Bear, two brothers; Clarence Kelly and Kenneth Kelly and a granddaughter, Amanda Leigh Kaltenbaugh.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Rev. Robert Seibold will officiate.
Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Rd., Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
