Margaret K. Shughart, 88, of Carlisle, died Friday,
December 31, 2010 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on Saturday, September 2, 1922, in South Middleton Twp.,
and was a daughter of the late Elmer J. Barley and Bessie Jane (Russell) Barley. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother,
Mary J. (Blosser) Barley.
Margaret was the widow of Raymond L. Shughart,
who died Nov. 1, 2000. Margaret retired after many years of service with the former Book of the Month Club in Mechanicsburg.
She was of Protestant faith.
She is survived by five step-sons; Richard L.
"Dick" Shughart, Robert L. Shughart, Paul "Ed" Shughart, John R. Shughart and Barry D. Shughart, all of Carlisle,
three step-daughters; Charlotte Leash of Mechanicsburg, Joyce Killing of Carlisle and Yvonne Bradley of Camp Hill, a niece,
Lois King of Mechanicsburg, two great-nieces, 25 step-grandchildren, 39 step-great-grandchildren and 30 step-great-great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by two sisters; Mary E. Brackbill and B. Viola Waggoner and
two step-sons; Harry and Donald Shughart.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday,
January 5, 2011 at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating. Burial
will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the services.

Dad, So sorry to hear about Grandma Shughart. I remember
her playing with us when we were little and would go over to their house for Sunday dinner.
Hope you are doing well. Tell all the Aunts and
Uncles I said hi.
