Gail R. McCord, 77, of Boiling Springs, died
Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. She was born on Sunday, June 11, 1933, in Carlisle, and was
a daughter of the late John Steele and Gayle (Group) Berry and Raymond Berry. She was the widow of Edward P. McCord, who died
Aug. 1, 1994.
Gail was a 1951 graduate of Carlisle High School
and was a veteran of the Women’s Army Corps, having served during the Korean War. She retired in 1996 as a supply system
analyst with the New Cumberland Army Depot after more than 25 years of service. Gail was a longtime active member of the Florida
World Organization of China Painters, Inc.
She is survived by three sons; Richard P. Looney,
Jr. (and wife, Carol) of Boiling Springs, Stephen Looney (and wife, Paula Caron) of Grantham, NH and Michael J. Looney (and
wife, Barbara Brunzell) of Saint Paul, MN, a daughter, Patricia A. Looney of Bel Air, MD, a brother, John Steel of Carlisle,
a sister, Alpheretta Highlands also of Carlisle, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services to celebrate Gail’s life
will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with
Pastor Vincent Rife officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until time of the services.
