Anna G. Lawton, 94, formerly of Arch St, Carlisle, died Saturday October
30, 2010 at Sarah Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. She was the daughter of the late Victor Leroy and Lola Kennedy McBride, and
the widow of Matthew J. (Tom) Lawton, who died February 22, 1995.
She was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle High School
Class of 1935 and at one time was employed by the Carlisle and Bedford Shoe companies. She served as secretary for the Police
Athletic League, which was run by her husband from 1956 to 1973.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathi Lawton, granddaughter, Heidi
Lawton, great-granddaughters; Delaney MacNamara and Sienna MacNamara and great-grandson, Malachai Weidner, all of Carlisle
and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by sisters; Violet Stape of Carlisle and Velva (Peg) Mackey
of Mechanicsburg and brother, Charles McBride of Lincoln, KS.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
at St Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle, with Rev. Dwight D. Schlaline as the celebrant. Burial will be
in St. Patrick New Catholic Cemetery, Carlisle. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at Ewing Brothers
Funeral Home, 630 S Hanover St., Carlisle, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

I was so sorry to hear of Anna's death. She was
a lovely woman. She and Tom were like grandparents to me when I was growing up on Arch Street. I have many fond
