Robert E. Brown, Sr., 93, a former lifetime resident
of Camp Hill, died Thursday, October 21, 2010, in Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. He was born on
Feb. 4, 1917, in Harrisburg, a son of the late Mark and Dorothy Mae (Bretz) Brown. He was married to the late Dorothy Marie
(Alexander) Brown, who died Dec. 5, 2007.
Bob attended Camp Hill High School where he excelled
in football. Prior to the start of his senior year, he was struck by an automobile while riding his bicycle and was unable
to graduate or play football again. He retired from the Bethlehem Steel Mill with nearly 50 years of service. Bob enjoyed
playing tennis and was an avid football fan.
He is survived by a son, Robert Brown, Jr. of
Florida, a daughter, Caroline Rife of Ohio, his step-children; William Kyle of Blairs Mill, Peggy Ann Rizzuto of York, Kathy
M. Kyle of Camp Hill and James Kyle of Virginia, grandchildren; Robert, Richie and Johnie Brown, Theresa Lovett, Kimberly
Clady and Becky Patchett, step-grandchildren; Sean Kyle, Christopher and Natalie Rizzuto, Nicole and Michael Wagman, Zachary,
Noah and Ayden Kyle, Malinda and Robert Kyle and Stacey Brown and his great-grandchildren; Dionne Price and Alyvia, Isabella
and Sofia Kyle. Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Brown and a sister, Dorothy G. Brown.
Services and burial will be at the convenience
of the family in Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.
