Jimmy L. Schmuck, 53, of Newville, died Monday, September 20, 2010, in his home. He was born on Tuesday, November 13, 1956, in Carlisle, a son of Arlington R. Schmuck of Newville and the late Betty (Heller) Schmuck.

Jimmy graduated in 1974 from Colonial High School in Orlando, FL. He was employed by the former Carlisle Tire & Rubber Co. from 1977 to 1991. He then began driving big-rig trucks and for the past seven years was employed by Vitran Express in Camp Hill. Jimmy was a member of Carlisle Eagles Aerie 1299 and a former member of the Mt. Holly Springs V.F.W. He enjoyed fishing, boating and bowling.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Sandra L. (Williams) Schmuck, a son, Jason L. Schmuck of Carlisle, a brother, Michael R. Schmuck of Orlando, FL, a sister, Linda Bernheimer of Carlisle and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2010, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Roy Kern officiating. Burial will be private. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Philadelphia and Susquehanna Valley, 512 Township Line Road, One Valley Square, Suite 133, Blue Bell, PA 19422.

Jimmy was one of our better drivers and just an all around great guy.  Quiet, kind and a real gentleman.  I had not seen him in a while and was told of his passing and it brought me to tears.  I am so sorry for your loss.
