Imelda C. Newkam, 86, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, September 14,
2010, in the Church of God Home, Carlisle. She was born on Sunday, July 13, 1924, in Bradley, Maine, a daughter of the late
Joseph A. and Delena R. (Guay) Pelletier and the widow of former Carlisle physician, Dr. John S. Newkam, Jr., who died May
20, 1978.
Imelda was a loving and devoted homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick
Catholic Church, Carlisle.
She is survived by three daughters; Margaret R. Truxal and Imelda N. Stevison,
both of Carlisle and Janet A. Carlson of Cornwall, two sisters; Marion Pelletier of Old Town, ME and Ruth Ann Shorette of
Bradley, ME, a brother, Herbert Pelletier of Milford, ME, six grandchildren; Kristina Stambaugh, Katrina Truxal, Jonathan
Truxal, Katie Null, Melanie Amadure and Jared Stevison, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews. Imelda was preceded in death by her brother, Edmund Pelletier, three sisters; Antoinette Richards, Joann
Landry and Agnes Cyr and a granddaughter, Cynthia Carlson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September
17, 2010, in the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 87 Marsh Dr., Carlisle with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating. Burial will
be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg. Viewing will be held on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until time of the services at the church.
Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.

sorry I was unable to attend the services. Mel - I shall always remember decorating the Christmas tree and how your
mother thought my "tinsel technique" was so amusing. What fun we had! It is a memory that will last forever!
