Bill co-founded and operated, along with his son, Troy, Fluss Flooring, Inc. in Carlisle in 1990 and retired in 2005. He was formerly employed by Tile Masters in Harrisburg for more than 25 years. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, wildlife, being around people and was always there to lend a helping hand for those in need. He also enjoyed coin collecting.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 17 years, Mary A. (Gaddis) Fluss, three sons; William A., Jr. (and his wife, Ann) Fluss of Newburg, Troy A. (and his wife, Tina) Fluss of Carlisle and Shawn A. Fluss (and his companion, Mindy Rebuck) of Newville, five grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Bill was also preceded in death by two sisters; Joann Cruz and Anne Risser and one granddaughter, Taylor Fluss.

The family will receive friends for a viewing on Friday, August 27, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg.  So very sorry to learn of Bill's passing. Seems as if he was cheated out of many more years of life!  I can relate since I am also 65.  He will be sorely missed.  God rest his soul.  My sincere condolences to his entire family.

Whenever I saw your Dad he would always stop and say hi and ask me how my family was doing.  I used to work with Yvonne and knew your dad from store  parties and get togethers.  He'll truely be missed.

To a man who was like my own father growing up.  He will be sadly missed by myself and all that knew him.

Very sorry to hear about your father.  He shared many great stories with us over the years while doing several flooring installations at Little John's Restaurant.
We'll remember him for his smile and great attitude towards life.

I loved you like you were my Dad, even though you weren't my real father.
You touched so many lives with your big heart and smile!

You went out of your way always.. to make others happy.

You will be lived in my heart & so many others.

I only pray for a legacy as big as yours some day.
I know you will watching over all of us from far above.
