Although I never met Mary V. Hutchinson, I feel
as though I have known her for years. And, what a pleasure it has been! Through the poetry of her son, John, our writing group
has come to know, admire and love the conversations between John and his mother. Everything from soup to 'nuts' was gist for
their unique mill of words and ultimate connection. Our love goes out to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grands
who will each carry a part of Mary Virginia with them. Thus is her immortality ensured. Hamlet said of his beloved father
"Take him for all and all/he was a man//And we shall not see his like soon again". Change the 'man' to 'woman' and one has
the greatest tribute to a life well lived. No, we will not see "her like" soon again. Except Shakespeare said it better than
I do. Love to all of you....Betty

It was with great sorrow we learned of your dear mother's
death. Words can not tell you how much we will miss her. She was an extraordinary woman and we have many fond memories of
her. I will never forget how she drove her car...very fast..it was hysterical. Her conversations were always replete with
things about her family, her pride and joy. We will remember her with much love and gratitude.

I grew up on Louther Street and remember both your parents. They were wonderful people.
I moved from Louther Steet 53 years ago, but your Mother always remembered me and sent lovely notes when my parents and brother
died. I used to see her eating out quite frequently and she would always catch me up on the happenings on Louther Street.
I remember playing with Bertie. My deepest sympathy to all of you. I am sorry I didn't get to speak to any of you at
the funeral. I did meet some of the grandchildren.
