Faye I. (Kling) Karper, 69, of Carlisle, passed away with
loving family by her side on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at her home. She was born on Wednesday, September 18, 1940, in
Carlisle, a daughter of the late Robert C. and Gladys C. I. (Bishop) Kling and the widow of Robert L. Karper, Sr., who died
Nov. 20, 2004.
Faye was a 1958 graduate of Carlisle High School and also
attended Shippensburg University. She was employed for 35 years at the former Bedford Shoe Co. and had also worked at the
former Eppley Drug Store and Ross Industries all of Carlisle. Faye was an avid Phillies fan, enjoyed bowling, reading and
traveling.
She is survived by a daughter, Cathy M. (and her husband,
Steve) Taylor of Mechanicsburg, a son, Robert L. Karper, Jr. (and his girlfriend, Lisa Casler) of Mechanicsburg, a sister,
Geraldine Russell of Carlisle, three grandsons, Nathan, Christopher and Weston Taylor and many nieces and nephews. Faye was
also preceded in death by a brother, Dale Kling and a sister, Janet Weidner.
Funeral services to celebrate Faye’s life will be held
at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2010, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Timothy
Funk officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until
time of the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Chapel Pointe, 770 S. Hanover St., Carlisle,
PA 17013.
