I can recall a locker room scene back at the old Lamberton building.  Carl was maybe 14 yrs old.  He was getting out of his football uniform and equipment.  He still had his shoulder pads on.  Somebody said something, and he burst out laughing.  It was a loud and fun laugh.  I won't forget that laugh.  It's as fresh in my mind as though it happened yesterday.

Randolph Hays

I worked with Carl at the Cumberland CAO. He was very humble and never shared of all his lifetime accomplishments. He was very kind man, with a good sense of humor, who spoke very highly of his family.  I was sad to see him leave our office but knew he would be a positive influence on the kids at South Mountain. He was always offering advice and assistance.  He will be missed!! My sympathy to his family and friends.

Judy Peiper

It's been many years since I last saw Carl but I remember well his warmth, his ready smile and, of course, his impressive athletic abilities. May countless happy memories help to ease the pain of your loss and may God bless and comfort you. With sincere sympathy~

To The Owens family,

Sorry to hear about Carl.
I refereed with Carl for years...I will miss him.

James Lorant

My sincerest sympathy to the entire Owens family.  Your loss is shared by everyone who ever met Carl.  He was a strong confident man who could be counted on.  I remember Carl as a high school basketball player who I looked up to and later as one of the alumni that Coach Evans had in the gym to teach us younger guys what being tough was all about.  Carl was a fierce competitor who I greatly admired.  I feel lucky to have known him and learned from him.  May he have eternal peace.

Pat Dieter

We had some good times along time ago...good memories.

Mike Hileman

I graduated with Carl in 1972 from CHS.  I always found him to be a funny, happy , great guy!  I have very fond memories of him, and hope that your happiest of memories will sustain you during this sad time.

Suzanne (Minich) Cornman

For the family, sorry for the passing of Carl.  Family is so important at such a time as this, so good to see so many people that care.

In the Love of Christ, Susan S. Bickett

Just found out about the passing of Carl.
He was my main man!!!
I was the radio announcer on 102.3 WHYL during the great Carlisle basketball era (1985-88) as the Herd won 4 consecutive state titles with the help of Carl's nephew Billy.
Last time I saw Carl was late March at Chambersburg HS for the boys "AAAA" state semi-final game.
It was always great talking sports with him.
My prayers are with the Owens family.
