Our beloved mother and wife, Refugio Teresa Zizzi of Carlisle,
passed from this life to eternal rest on Sunday, July 18, 2010, with her family by her side at Holy Spirit Hospital. Refugio
"Ruff" was born on July 4, 1921, in Idaho Falls, ID, a daughter of the late Francisco and Isabella (Gonzalez) Jimenez.
She was the retired co-owner of two family businesses, Zizzi’s
Truck Tops and Storage Sheds and from 1964-1977 Zizzi’s Holly Pike Bar-B-Q. She attended the University of Idaho and
the University of Washington. After college, she worked as an interpreter for the US Dept. of Agriculture. In 1946, she married
Cosmo Zizzi and traveled with him to the many domestic and international outposts that he was assigned during his 23 years
in the US Army. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle. Ruff’s greatest accomplishment in life was
being a mother, wife and grandmother to her large family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and traveling with her
husband.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years,
Cosmo J. Zizzi, Sr., one sister, Angelina Fagnan of Corvallis, OR, three sons; Anthony Zizzi (and wife, Paula), Cosmo J. Zizzi,
Jr., Bill Zizzi (and wife Teri), three daughters; Marianne Zizzi Basile (and husband, Bill Basile), Elizabeth Zizzi (and husband
Al Wentzel) and Theresa Zizzi (and husband, Carl Stasyszyn) all of Carlisle, her grandchildren; Marc Feeser (and wife Megan),
Trevor (Zizzi) Wicks, Marisa Zizzi, Adrienne Basile, Colin Zizzi, Celia Zizzi, Angelina Stasyszyn, Brennan Zizzi, Gabriel
Stasyszyn and Marguerite Stasyszyn and two great-grandchildren; Aidan and Aubrie Feeser; five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law
and many nieces and nephews. Refugio was preceded in death by five brothers; Francisco, Jim, Fernando, Rafe, and Michael,
and one sister, Amalia Jimenez.
A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 11 a.m. on
Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle, with the Rev. Daniel Menniti as the celebrant.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service and immediately following the service in the church social
hall for a light luncheon and fellowship. Refugio will be laid to rest following the luncheon in St. Patrick’s New Cemetery,
Carlisle. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church Building Fund, 152 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA 17013.

My grandmother, Eva Laird, was one of Mrs.
Zizzi's dining partners at COG Home. My son, Wesley, and I had the honor of meeting Mrs. Zizzi a few times. We also
met some of her family, too. We enjoyed conversing with her! She was very proud of her family! That was
so evident. I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my sincerest sympathy.

I've very fond memories of Mrs Zizzi & Zizzi's Drive-Up
from my teen age years. I spent many evenings out there meeting and talking with my friends. She was always very welcoming
to us all. She will be missed.

Dear Liz and Family, At Mass
they prayed for the repose of your mom's soul. If only I'd known earlier I would have attended the funeral Mass.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences! I know how dear your mom was to you, and I know how well loved and cared for she was
by you, your dad and your siblings. It was truly an inspiration to see the devotion all of you had, and a testimony
to your mom, from whom you received a firm foundation in living a life of love and service to others.
I am praying for all of you!
