Elisabeth D. Myers, 85,
of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2010 in Healthsouth Rehabilitation Center of Mechanicsburg. She was
born on Monday, November 24, 1924 in Chambersburg and was a daughter of the late Simpson B. and Nan (Murray) Daugherty. She
was the widow of Morris L. Myers, her husband of 30 years, who died in 2003.
Elisabeth was a 1941 graduate of McKinley Technology High School in Washington, DC.
She retired after 20 years of service as the Meeting and Events Planner for Kaiser Permanente Insurance Co., Oakland, CA.
She was previously employed as a secretary at the U. S. Army Chaplains Corps, Washington, DC, the United Telephone Company
in Carlisle and had been on the White House Volunteer Staff for Hilary Clinton. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal
Church, Carlisle.
Elisabeth is survived by a son, Stephen H. Robillard, North Hampton, MA, a step-son, Mark (and his wife, Gloria) Myers
of Seattle, WA, a step-daughter, Brooke Wickham, Olympia, WA, two sisters; Nancy D. Cortner of Carlisle and Jean D. Carr of
Pawley’s Island, SC, four nieces; Jennifer Cortner of Washington, DC, Laura Cortner of Owings Mill’s, MD, Cathy
Anderson of Carlisle and Joyce Powers of Lexington Park, MD, a nephew, Joe Carr of Mobile, AL, five grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Robillard and her brother, Robert M. Daugherty.
A memorial service to celebrate Elisabeth’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010 in St. John’s
Episcopal Church, On the Square, N. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Canon Mark A. Scheneman and Rev. Robyn Szoke officiating.
Visitation and fellowship will be held in the church immediately following the service. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle,
is handling arrangements. Inurnment will be in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Columbarium in St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
