Mary Jane E. Alonzo, 79, of Carlisle, peacefully passed away
on Sunday, March 28, 2010, in the Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, Harrisburg. She was born on Sunday, August 31, 1930, in
Carlisle, and was a daughter of the late James E. and Emma M. (Lippert) Evans.
Mary Jane was a loving homemaker and had also worked for
AMP, Inc., Carlisle for more than 10 years. She was formerly employed with the former Reeves-Hoffman Co. and G. S. Electric
Co., both of Carlisle. Mary Jane was artistic and enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting. She was an avid reader and looked forward
to special family times and the Sunday tea gatherings with her sisters.
She is survived by one son, Steven J. (and his wife, Angela)
Alonzo of Enola, two daughters; Joetta D. Dingle of Toms River, NJ and Susan M. Alonzo of Carlisle, two brothers; Gary and
Richard Evans both of Carlisle, six sisters; Cynthia Bream of Gardners, Mae Wilson, Beverly Tush, Doris Starner, Fay Hock
and Kay Kling, all of Carlisle, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded
in death by a sister, Vivian Farris and brothers; Robert and Kenneth Evans.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday,
March 31, 2010, at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Highway, Carlisle, with Pastor John Dingle officiating.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions
