Ida M. Helman, 86, of Carlisle, died Friday, June 4, 2010,
in Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on Tuesday, December 25, 1923, in Penn Twp., Cumberland County, a daughter
of the late Irvin L. and Nena C. (Morrison) Smith and the widow of Herman H. Helman, who died Dec. 20, 1993.
Ida and her late husband owned and operated a dairy farm
in Dickinson Twp. for many years. She was a member of Barnitz United Methodist Church, Carlisle and the United Methodist Women’s
Group. Ida was preceded in death by four brothers; Lowrie, John, Gordon and Lester Smith and a sister, Alverta Line.
She is survived by two sons; David L. (and his wife, Claudia)
Helman of Carlisle and Daniel R. (and his wife, Jan) Helman of East Berlin, a brother, Richard Smith of Newville, two grandchildren;
Devin and Celeste Helman and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June
8, 2010, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Rick Robinson officiating. Burial will
be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until time of the service. Memorials
may be made to Barnitz United Methodist Church, 23 Church Lane, Carlisle, PA 17013.

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy on the loss of
your mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Ida was a very kind and gentle person who enjoyed spending time with
family and friends. We had the pleasure of sharing many holiday dinners with her over the past 20 years and we are certain
