Dear Steve, Tim, and Korin,
I wanted to write to offer my heartfelt
condolences on the loss of your mom. She, (and your dad) like my own parents, was a Mt. Holly Springs Icon. It
does not matter if we lose our parents when they are young or older - it is still a realization that we are now the "elder
generation." Losing a parent is difficult, but we all know that your mom is at home with God - perhaps even giving him
a little 'direction' here and there, but at home all the same. Holidays will be a bit more difficult; her birthday will
bring up painful memories, and even a trip past the old family home will generate sadness. There is nothing wrong with
remembering...it is how we keep our heritage alive, and it only shows how much we loved those who aren't around anymore.
Treasure your memories, share them with your own kids, and smile through the tears when you are assured that your mom is now
"home" for good. Peace be with all of you.
