Helen Barsohn, 84, of Carlisle, peacefully passed away with
her loving family by her side on Friday, January 8, 2010, in the Harrisburg Hospital. She was born on Thursday, March 5, 1925,
in Cairnbrook, and was a daughter of the late Michael and Anastasie (Havrilak) Elko.
Helen was a homemaker and had also worked in food service
for many years. She was a chef for the The Reception House in Flushing, Queens, NY and up until a few years ago she worked
for the Westfield Diner in Westfield, NJ. Helen loved gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by four brothers and seven sisters; Mike, Nick, Harry, John, Anna, Emma, Sue, Julia, Mary, Katherine and Nancy.
She is survived by daughters; Lisa N. Barsohn and Karen Early
both of Boise, ID, three grandchildren; Frances Wolf, Liz Daniel and Kathryn Kinnier, two great-granddaughters; Anna and Gracie
Wolf and many nieces and nephews.
At Helen’s request there will be no services. Burial
will be private. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.
