Ray E. Alexander, 84 of Carlisle, died
on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. He was born on
July 10, 1934 in Carlisle and was a son of the late Chester and Edna (Brown) Alexander.
Ray was a longtime
agricultural and dairy farmer in North Middleton Twp. He was a member of the PA Farm Bureau and Williams
Grove Steam Engine Assoc. Ray enjoyed competing in tractor pulling contests throughout the local area.
He is survived by
his devoted wife of 56 years, Janet M. (Stambaugh) Alexander, one son, Kevin E. “Goober” (and his wife, Pamela)
Alexander of Newville, one sister, Dorothy Throne and one brother, Ronald Alexander both of Carlisle, one granddaughter, Katlyn
Alexander and several nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by one brother, Kenneth Alexander.
Funeral services
will begin at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 25, 2019 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with
Pastor Randy Zook officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewings
will be held at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
