
C. Glenn Bear, 91 of Carlisle, went to be with his
loving Lord on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at his home. He was born on June 9, 1927 in Barnitz (Carlisle) and was a son of
the late George A. and Helen M. (Roush) Bear. Glenn graduated from Boiling Springs
High School in 1945. He and his wife farmed for 24 years in Penn and South Middleton Townships. After farming, he worked 12
years for the former AMP, Inc. and then worked part-time at the former Farmers Trust Co. Bank in Carlisle. Glenn then worked
12 years as a farm hand and landscaper with a local realtor. He has been a member of The Meeting House in Carlisle for the
most recent years and was formerly a member of Barnitz United Methodist Church, Carlisle for 69 years. He is survived by
his wife of 71, years Susan C. (Fink) Bear, one son, James A. (wife, Lynda) Bear of Mt. Pleasant, MI, one daughter, Sharon
S. (husband, Tim) Walton of Mechanicsburg, one brother, Robert W. Bear of Carlisle, 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren,
15 great grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Glenn was predeceased by one brother, Ray
A. Bear and one sister Mary E. Moyer. A memorial service will be held on December
29th, at the Meeting House, 1155 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, at 11 am, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service with Rev.
Alan Robinson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central PA Hospice, 145 S. Hanover St. Carlisle, PA 17013.
