
Edna C. Gumby, of Mt. Holly Springs, passed
away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg. She was born on August 2, 1929
in Mt. Holly Springs and was a daughter of the late Harry N. and Harriett A. (Parker) Gumby. Edna was a 1948 graduate
of Carlisle High School. She worked as a supervisor at the Naval Ships Parts Control Center in Mechanicsburg
for 40 years. Edna was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Carlisle, where she was an usher
for 50 years, and was active with the morning Prayer Breakfast for 30 years. Edna also enjoyed water aerobics
at Cumberland Crossing for many years. She is survived by her son, Michael
L. (wife, Lisa) Gumby of Dillsburg, her sister, Harriett L Gumby of Mt. Holly Springs, her brother, William L. Gumby (twin
to Harriett) of Rochester, NY, one step-granddaughter, Eleanor Boyd, and many nieces and nephews. Edna
was preceded in death by three sisters; Ethel, Lucinda, and Mary Gumby and five brothers; Harry, Jr., Raymond, John, Edgar,
and George Gumby. A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, followed
by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Daniel Keys officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery, followed by a repast at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
