Betty J. Baum, 92,
of Shippensburg, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at her home. She was born on April 22, 1926
in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late David H. and Sarah K. (Miller) Long and was the widow of Richard A. Baum, Sr.,
who passed away on Oct. 19, 1989. Betty attended Carlisle High School. She
was a loving homemaker and formerly attended Carlisle Church of God. She is survived by one son, Richard A.
Baum, Jr. of Shippensburg, three daughters; Mary L. Shannon of Carlisle, Kathryn Foltz of Shermans Dale and Linda K. Funston
of Shippensburg, one brother, David Long of Carlisle, one sister, Margaret Linker of OK and many grand, great and great-great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by three son; Ronald, Rickey and Michael Baum, two brothers;
Robert and Leroy Long, two sisters; Eva Silves and Clara Peters and one granddaughter, Tina Guise. A viewing will begin
at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Dean Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery,
Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care &
Hospice in PA, 200 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
