
Mrs. Evelyn J. Ruegg, 83, of Carlisle, passed away on September 17, 2018 at Claremont
Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. She was born on November 16, 1934 in Carlisle and was a daughter of the
late Everett L. and Georgia O. (Spade) Sillers. Evelyn was a 1953 graduate
of Carlisle High School. She was a loving wife, homemaker and worked as a receptionist for her husband’s former
real estate company, “Phil Ruegg Real Estate.” Evelyn attended The Meeting House in Carlisle. She
enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She is survived by
her devoted husband of 63 years, Philip J. Ruegg, three children; P. Jed (wife, Kathleen) Ruegg, E. Lorraine “Lorrie”
Rhoads, both of Carlisle and Brian Scott Ruegg of Gardners, two brothers; William Sillers of Bethel Park and Everett Sillers
of Catonsville, MD, two sisters; Barbara Heffner of Dillsburg and Martha Fulton of Carlisle, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by one son, Steven C. Ruegg, who passed away on Feb. 1, 2006
and one sister, Linda Betton. A visitation will begin
at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Kenneth Hoke officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle.
