Gloria Helena (Hare) Rexrode, 73, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at The Crossings at West Shore in Mechanicsburg.  She was born on October 18, 1944 in Frostburg, MD and was a daughter of the late Robert R. and Mary H. (Porter) Hare and the widow of James William Rexrode, Jr. who passed away on Sept. 16, 2006.

Gloria was a devoted homemaker.  She was a member of Great Hope Baptist Church, Carlisle.  Gloria was a tireless volunteer for the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and was a Past State Chaplain, a 1st Junior, 2nd Junior and Senior Vice Commander, State Commander, District Commander and State Hospital Chairwoman.

She is survived by one son, James William (wife, Charlene) Rexrode, III of Carlisle and their children; Elizabeth Peters and Heather Rexrode, two daughters; Beverly Jane (husband, James) Proske of Ft. Pierce, FL and their children; Jason Campbell and Sarah Campbell, Brittany Proske and James Proske, Jr. and Deborah Lynn (companion, Harrison Ronan) McCalister of Carlisle and her children; Cole and Zachary McCalister, two brothers; LCP (Ret) Robert U. Hare, USMC of Grafton, WV and Sergeant First Class (Ret) Rodney L. Hare of Cumberland, MD, one sister, Yvonne L. Crawford of Cumberland, MD, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Gloria was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald T. Hare.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Dale Barrick officiating.  Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rescue Adoption, 3802 Oleander Ave., Ft.
