
Blanche
Virginia “Ginny” Wimer, 82, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.
She was born on March 9, 1936 in Duncannon and was a daughter of the
late Walter J. and Blanche V. (Gambler) Woods. Ginny retired from Sprint Telephone Inc., Carlisle after
39 years of service. Following her retirement, Ginny worked part-time at Giant Food, the former Dauphin
Oil Co., and the Bon Ton Department store all of Carlisle. She was a member of Carlisle First Church of
the Brethren where she was formerly active with the Women’s Fellowship. Ginny enjoyed her pool, the sun and going to the beach. She is survived by one son, Douglas A. Wimer (Marsha Nichols) of Mt. Holly Springs, two daughters, Lori A. Wimer of
Marysville and Stacy L. (husband, David) Loose of Carlisle, three grandsons, Jared, Cameron and Zane Loose; three brothers,
Harry Woods of Mechanicsburg, Fred Woods of East Prospect and Glen Woods of Columbia; one sister, Nell Royer of Carlisle and
many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers,
June Woods and Neil Woods. A viewing will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 followed
by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastors Marla and Jim
Abe officiating. Entombment will be held in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
A time of fellowship will be held at the church following the entombment. www.Since1853.com.
