Jackolyn Rae Dittenhafer,
80, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 in UPMC-Pinnacle Carlisle. She was born on August
4, 1937 in South Williamsport and was a daughter of the late Clyde and Evelyn (Ferrar) Hutchins and was the widow of Clarence
A. Dittenhafer, Jr. who passed away on April 11, 2012.
Jackolyn
graduated from South Williamsport High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Lock Haven
State College. Jackolyn retired from the US Postal Service as a rural carrier with more than 10 years of
service and was a former gym teacher in the Halifax School District. She enjoyed playing cards, doing word
puzzles and listening to music.
She is survived
by three sons; Jeffrey B. (wife, Rebecca) Dittenhafer of Pequea, Christopher M. (partner, Lawrence Ching) Dittenhafer of San
Francisco, CA and Rodney D (wife, Trish) Dittenhafer of Ashland, MA, one brother, Robert Hutchinson of South Williamsport,
one sister, Joanne Erwine of Bloomsburg and four grandchildren; Austin J., Logan B., Ava R. and Leah Dittenhafer and several
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Eric S. Dittenhafer and one sister, Sandra Wolfe.
A viewing will begin
at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 followed by a remembrance service at 7:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in
