Stern W. Snyder, Jr.,
86, of Carlisle, entered eternal life on Monday, April 30, 2018 at UPMC-Pinnacle Carlisle. He was not alone as his family
and close friends were by his bedside. He was a fighter until the end. He was born on September 5, 1931 in Carlisle
and was the son of the late Stern W. Snyder, Sr. and Ruth E. (Hair) Snyder. He had no siblings.
Stern was a tireless worker who retired after
40+ years of service with the Frog Switch Manufacturing Co. in Carlisle. He also retired with many years of service
from the former A&P/Super Fresh Food Store in Carlisle. He was a member of the White Circle and Eagles 1299, both of Carlisle.
He lost his beloved wife, Helen, on September 11, 2013 after 62 years of marriage. Not a day went by without him reminiscing
and sharing a memory of her. He was always busy and continued to maintain her beautiful flowers and feed her wildlife.
Their three cats, Nelle, Bella and Boots will miss him terribly. He was always the first to lend a helping hand and his generosity
will be missed by all.
He is survived by one son, Dennis W. (wife, Joyce) Snyder of Carlisle, one daughter, Deborah K.S. (husband,
David) Campbell of Carlisle, his grandchildren, Kristina M. Snyder, David L. Snyder, Jr., (and his daughters, Kendall
and Kylee Snyder) Kara A. Snyder, Lucas W. Campbell, Traviss C. Campbell (and Sadie Hershey and their son, Westyn Campbell) and
Rachal M. Campbell; his sister-in-law, Janice K. (husband, Jack) Rosenberry, aunts, Violet McCoy and Martha Shughart.
He was preceded in death by one son, David L. Snyder, Sr., who died in 1991.
A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018 followed by
funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Richard Reese officiating.
Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. www.Since1853.com.
