Gary L. Heffelbower

Gary Lee Heffelbower, 73, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Cumberland Crossing Ret. Comm., Carlisle. He was born on Sept. 19, 1944 in Stoughstown, Cumb. County and was a son of the late Alfred H. and Reba P. (Moore) Heffelbower.

Gary attended Big Spring United Methodist Church in Newville.

He is survived by his devoted family which includes one sister, Betty L. Heffelbower of Carlisle, one brother, William H. Heffelbower of Boiling Springs and several nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by one sister, Jean C. Watson.

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018 followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Deborah L. Ryder officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to his church, 12 Springfield Rd., Newville, PA 17241. www.Since1853.com.

I got to know Gary while working at Cumberland Crossings. He was always a bright spot of my day. No matter what was going on, Gary greeted everyone with his big broad smile. I know Gary is smiling in Heaven now. God Bless that little fella.
