Carolyn L. Moore,
72, of Carlisle passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at her home with family by her side. She was born
on July 8, 1945 in Hampton, VA and was the daughter of the late William A. and Beulah E. (Banks) Lattimore.
Carolyn graduated in 1963
from Phenix High School in Hampton and in 1972 she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Hampton Institute.
Carolyn worked as a volunteer and counselor for 13 years with the American Red Cross. She also worked as a Mental Health/Retardation
Case Worker in State College PA and retired as a case worker with the Cumberland County Children & Youth.
Carolyn worked on the NASA Project at the Hampton Institute. She was a member of 1st
Baptist Church in Hampton and a Habitat for Humanity volunteer. Carolyn loved to travel, garden and do
yoga.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, SMSGT (Ret) Cephus L. Moore USAF, one son, Cephus W. Moore
of Pittsburgh, one daughter, Ingrid Holliday of Bloomington, IL, one grandson, Nigel Moore Holliday and many cousins including,
Luther Banks, III of Hampton and Ramona Blakely of Oklahoma City.
A
viewing will be held from1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
Hanover St., Carlisle. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Smith
Brothers Funeral Home, 545 E. Mercury Blvd, Hampton, VA 23663 with a viewing from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial
will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
