Edward E. Brunner, 92, of
Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Church of God Home, Carlisle. He was born on February 2, 1926 in
Campbelltown, PA and was a son of the late Lee Brunner and Anna (Reich) Diener. He was married to the late Marilyn “Pat”
(Hooven) Brunner who passed away on March 1, 2018.
Ed served in the United States Army, followed by a career
with C.H. Masland & Sons, Carlisle, from where he retired after many years of service. He worked into his early 80’s
as a security guard at Lear, Inc. and I.C.G. Ed was a member of The Meeting House, Carlisle. He was a phenomenal bowler
and softball player. He loved both the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles remaining a loyal fan through the
years.
He
is survived by two sons; Barry L. Brunner of Dillsburg and Joseph H. (wife, Judith) Loraw of Elkmont, AL, two daughters; Susan
P. (husband, Richard) Shaffner and Bonnie L. Brown, both of Carlisle, one brother, Lee Brunner, Jr. of Carlisle, two sisters;
Fern Kipe of Camp Hill and Nancy Miller of Mechanicsburg, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers; James and Leroy Brunner and two sisters; Edith Booser and Pauline
Conrad.
A Celebration of Life Service will
be held on Saturday morning, May 19, 2018 (11:00 - 12:00 visitation / 12:00 service) in the New Life Community Church, 64
E. North St., Carlisle, with Pastor Ryan Brown officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial donations in memory
of Ed may be made to the New Life Community Church. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.
