 Janet E. Mowery, 95, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 in the Orrstown Personal Care Home.
She was born on December 10, 1922 in Shippensburg and was a daughter of the late Harvey N. and Anna C. (Morrison) Diehl.
She was the widow of Richard D. Mowery, who passed away on February 15, 2006. Janet was a loving homemaker. She
was a former member of Shippensburg First Church of God and attended Carlisle First Church of God. Janet
enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl L. (and her husband, William C.) Downes of Carlisle,
one son, Glen R. (and his wife, Margaret) Mowery of Iowa City, Iowa, two brothers; Edgar Diehl of Chambersburg and Harvey
A. Diehl of Shippensburg, two sisters; Nancy (husband, Dallas) Garman of Shippensburg and Anna (husband, Ted) Noel of Lanham,
MD, three grandchildren; Amanda, Brooke and Will, three great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Janet
was preceded in death by one brother, Mervin Diehl and one sister, Martha Minor. A
viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Shippensburg
First Church of God, 121 East King St., Shippensburg with Rev. Michael Poe officiating. Burial will be
in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Janet E.
Mowery, my aunt. She lived a wonderful life, through its ups and downs, and I hope she had some happy memories to bring
along with her in Heaven.

the pleasure of working with Jimmy for about 30 years and always appreciated his willingness to do whatever it took to get
the job done. He was always smiling and full of fun - a pleasure to be around. Jimmy was a guy who cared about people.
