Janet Pearl (Bailey) Griffie, 81, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Pinnacle-Carlisle.  She was born on Sept. 10, 1936 in Lower Mifflin Twp. and was a daughter of the late William and Pearl (Jumper) Bailey and the widow of Donald L. Griffie, who passed away May 26, 1990.

Janet was a loving homemaker and loved gardening.  She formerly attended the Brethren in Christ Church, Carlisle.

She is survived by one son, Larry Gene (wife, Jean) Griffie of Newfield, NJ, two daughters; Tammy Lee (Griffie) (husband, Dennis) Melisaskas and Sherry Griffie, both of Carlisle, three brothers; William, Thomas and Ralph Bailey, one sister, Velma Burkholder and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by five brothers; Paul, Joseph, Eugene, James and Harold Bailey and five sisters; Darlene Bailey, Kathleen Mixell, Esther Noll, Elsie Clement and Dorothy Hossler.

A visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Barbara Albert officiating.  Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 3001 Gettysburg Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011.  Visit www.Since1853.com to send condolences.
