

William H. Gatten, 73, of Carlisle passed
away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Fox SubAcute, Mechanicsburg. He was born on Dec. 31, 1944 in Wheeling,
WV and was a son of the late Clyde and Violet M. (Warner) Gatten. Bill served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He
earned his G.E.D. He retired from Exel, Inc., Carlisle. Bill also had worked many years
with the former Carlisle Tire & Rubber Co., several years for the US Postal Service in Carlisle as a letter carrier and
the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot. Bill enjoyed hunting, cutting wood, camping and spending time with
his grandsons. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Rebecca R. (Mackey) Gatten, one daughter, Jennifer R. (husband, Jesse)
Myers and one son, William A. Gatten, both of Carlisle, one brother, Kenneth Gatten of Mechanicsburg, one sister, Beulah Powell
of South Dakota, four grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by three brothers
and four sisters. A viewing will begin at
10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Ron Candioto officiating. Burial will be in
Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. www.Since1853.com
