James Lee Sikes, 76, of Shermans Dale, died on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at West Shore Hospital in Mechanicsburg.
He was born Thursday, July 10, 1941 in Gainesville, TX and was a son of the late James N. and Ena M. (Garner) Sikes.
He was married for 53 years to the late Sharon Gail (Keyworth) Sikes, who passed away on September 2, 2016.
Jim served in the US Air Force from 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1963.
He served several years with the New Mexico Air National Guard. Jim was an independent big-rig truck driver most of
his life. He was of Methodist faith, a former driver with the Shermans Dale Ambulance Association and an avid stock
car racing enthusiast.
He is survived by two sons; James A. (wife, Diana) Sikes
of Orrstown and Jeffrey C. (wife, Debbie) Sikes of Shermans Dale, one daughter, Wendy L. Sikes of Shermans Dale, one sister,
Dorothy Harkleroad of Los Lunas, NM, four grandchildren; James K. (wife, Nicole) Sikes, Curlista G. Sikes, Amber R. Sikes
and Gage V. Sikes, three great-grandchildren; McKenzie Sikes, Morgan Sikes and James Walter Sikes and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Clifton Carroll Sikes and Ronnie Sikes, two sisters; Darlyn Pagan and Judy Sikes
and two granddaughters; Brandy Rose Cardwell and Kara Mae Sikes.
A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16,
2018 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor
Daniel Murray officiating. Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
