Marilyn H. “Pat” Brunner, 90, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.  She was born on March 17, 1927 in Milton and was a daughter of the late John and Audrey (Miller) Hooven.

Pat graduated from Middletown High School in 1945.  Her early career found her working with the YMCA in Carlisle where she was affectionately known by so many area youths through the years, as "Mrs B."  She later retired, after many years of service with Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Camp Hill.  She and her husband raised their family in the Carlisle Calvary Road Church of God ... where she still had many warm memories of the Church's Homemakers Club.  Later, she was a member of the Meeting House (formerly the Brethren In Christ), in Carlisle.  Pat simply loved being with and taking care of her family.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Edward E. Brunner, two sons; Barry L. Brunner of Dillsburg and Joseph H. Loraw of Elkmont, AL, two daughters; Susan P. (husband, Richard) Shaffner and Bonnie L. Brown, both of Carlisle, one sister, Carolyn Irish of Pittsburgh, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two brothers; John and Jennings Hooven.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday Morning, March 24th (11:00 - 12:00 visitation / 12:00 service), in the New Life Community Church, 64 E. North St., Carlisle, with Pastor Ryan Brown officiating.  Burial will be private.  Memorial donations, in memory of Pat, may be made to the Arthritis Foundation / National Office,1355 Peachtree St NE, Suite 600, Atlanta,GA 30309 - Home Office (404.872.7100).  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
