
June Diehl Hartman, 95, of Mechanicsburg,
passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. She was born on June 22,
1922 in Klingerstown and was a daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Klinger) Diehl and was the widow of Harrison L. Hartman,
who passed away on June 22, 1983. June was a 1938 graduate of Freeburg High School. She attended Shippensburg University and graduated
from Central Penn Business School. She was a loving homemaker and retired after 19 years of service with
E. F. Houghton Inc. June was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Phoenixville.
June was a member and sang with the Reading Glee Club. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, gardening
and the 4-H Club. She had a great appreciation of nature and could name every plant, tree, flower and weed
around her. June was a quiet example of her strong faith. She was gentle, loving, positive,
forgiving, kind, selfless and humble. June was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by one daughter, Joyce H. (husband, Matt) Smith of Mechanicsburg,
one daughter-in-law, Irene Hartman, four grandchildren; Frank (Heather) Hartman, Janelle (Daniel) Makowski, Krystal (Alex)
Holbert and Riley Smith and four great-grandchildren; Frankie, Addison, Audrey and Everett. She was preceded
in death by one son, Frank D. Hartman, two brothers; Nevin and Franklin Diehl, three sisters; Lola Wolfe, Edna Wagner and
Ruby Klinger and one granddaughter, Lindsay Hartman. A graveside
service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 in the Leesport Cemetery, with Rev. Darrell Williams officiating.
