June Diehl Hartman, 95, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.  She was born on June 22, 1922 in Klingerstown and was a daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Klinger) Diehl and was the widow of Harrison L. Hartman, who passed away on June 22, 1983.

June was a 1938 graduate of Freeburg High School.  She attended Shippensburg University and graduated from Central Penn Business School.  She was a loving homemaker and retired after 19 years of service with E. F. Houghton Inc.  June was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Phoenixville.  June was a member and sang with the Reading Glee Club.  She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, gardening and the 4-H Club.  She had a great appreciation of nature and could name every plant, tree, flower and weed around her.  June was a quiet example of her strong faith.  She was gentle, loving, positive, forgiving, kind, selfless and humble.  June was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce H. (husband, Matt) Smith of Mechanicsburg, one daughter-in-law, Irene Hartman, four grandchildren; Frank (Heather) Hartman, Janelle (Daniel) Makowski, Krystal (Alex) Holbert and Riley Smith and four great-grandchildren; Frankie, Addison, Audrey and Everett.  She was preceded in death by one son, Frank D. Hartman, two brothers; Nevin and Franklin Diehl, three sisters; Lola Wolfe, Edna Wagner and Ruby Klinger and one granddaughter, Lindsay Hartman.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 in the Leesport Cemetery, with Rev. Darrell Williams officiating.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to Dementia Society of America or to Ronald McDonald House. I don't think I ever thought of you without thinking of your mom at the same time.  My condolences to you and your family.  She was so much a part of your family in every way that I know her passing will leave a tremendous void in your lives.  My, but what a truly wholesome and blessed life she had because of your love for her.  I send Christian love to you all.
