 Claire L. O’Donnell, 93, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, January
23, 2018 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. She was born on May 31, 1924 in Ashland,
PA and was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Ferner) Goyne. Claire was the widow of Eugene Vincent
O’Donnell, who passed away on December 4, 1989. Claire
graduated from Ashland High School and earned her nursing degree from Geisinger Nursing School. She was
a loving homemaker and a Registered Nurse. Claire was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle,
where she was active in many church ministries including the sacristans, church nursery, and the dinner committee.
Claire was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren’s many activities. She is survived by one son, John “Jack” W. (wife Kathy) O’Donnell and one daughter, Marygrace (husband
Fred) Seltzer, both of Carlisle; two sisters, Margaret Farley and Helen Jewell; ten grandchildren, David (wife Alicia), Michael
(wife Molly), Joseph, Sarah, Hannah, Matthew, and Noah O’Donnell, Stephanie Seltzer (husband Chris) Thompson, Melanie
Seltzer Kerstetter, and Rick (wife Deb) Seltzer; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by one brother, William Goyne. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle,
with Rev. Joshua Cavender officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick New Catholic Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held
on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover
