James “Butch” Moore, 73, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.  He was born on March 3, 1944 in Carlisle, and was a son of the late Ruth Moore Green.

He was a 1962 graduate of Carlisle High School.  Jim served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded several medals including the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars.  Jim retired from the former AMP, Inc. after more than 20 years of service.

He is survived by his fiancé, Cindy L. (Newhouse) Mixell, two daughters; Michelle Newhouse of Carlisle and Heather (husband, Riley) Caesar of Carlisle, four grandchildren; Elijah, Tariq, Jayden and Savon Newhouse and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by one grandson, Tre Newhouse.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle.  Burial with military honors will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.  Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
